ABSTRACT

The Military Operations Other than War (MOOTW) is one of duties carried out by Indonesian Army soldiers consisting of 14 tasks according to Law No. 34 regarding the TNI. In 2020, MOOTW was focused on handling the Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic has decreased the performance and job satisfaction of the soldiers. Leadership and motivation have been known as the factors that can optimize the MOOTW task. This study was performed to propose a model on the improvement of Indonesian Soldiers in terms of effectiveness and efficiency and to improve the policies related to community service. 250 soldiers who were directly involved in the handling of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia were sampled using a is proportionate random sampling. Data of this study were analyzed in Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using AMOS which results sowed that transformational leadership, public service motivation and job satisfaction had direct and positive effect on soldiers' performance. However, satisfaction did not mediate the effects of transformational leadership and public service motivation on soldiers' performance. It is expected that the policies applied by Indonesian Army to enhance the public service, work motivation and job satisfaction canimprove the performance of the soldiers. © 2023, SRAC - Romanian Society for Quality. ABSTRACT

The Covid 19 pandemic has provoked historical repercussions on the socioeconomic, cultural and political activities of countries across the world. The objective of this article is to critically review the emerging literature that focuses upon the impacts of Coronavirus on the tourism industry, in order to be aware of and understand the efforts made by experts from international institutions, organizations and governments in managing the crisis. In order to do so, the Scopus and Google Scholar databases were utilised with the aim being to establish which recent articles on the topic have had the greatest impact, measured by the number of citations, and the conclusions to be had by these studies. The common consensus appears to be that the pandemic has disrupted the classic tourism paradigm and it is thus necessary to focus upon the creation and emergence of new theories and methodologies that, in turn, can be practically applied among tourism destinations on a global basis.
